SHOWCASE
The Kent & Curwen Suit
The Showcase will feature different aspects of the K&C range, giving more detail on production, design and finish. The First item under the K&C microscope is the K&C Suit.
K&C’s London Flagship store is surrounded by some of the very best names in tailoring in neighbouring Savile Row. But with each K&C suit made with a mixture of age old craftsmanship and the latest bespoke cutting machines, a trip through the doors at Conduit Street should be more than worth the effort.
One of the key challenges in creating a top quality ready to wear suit is in the construction of the shoulder and the line from the neck to the shoulder. To assist this, DURBAN, the company responsible for the construction of the suits, has developed cutting machines designed specifically for this purpose. This results in precision cutting and a perfect shape and finish.
Many hours of hand craftsmanship goes into every single K&C suit. A tailoring process called ‘Flat Tailoring’ is used where many of the shapes are ironed into the suit. This reduces the need to cut the fabric and ensures a perfect finish. This is a very specialised and time consuming process where the humidity is also strictly controlled to enable millimetre levels of accuracy.
All of the fabrics are sourced in the UK from Fox Brothers and Martin & Sons, and the cut ensures a very British look with a narrow silhouette with very structured shoulders. Team this with K&C’s acute attention to detail you can be assured that you will leave the Conduit St store with a suit of the highest quality.
